Assalamualaikum.
So this is what happened on 8th February 2015 (not 2014, okay ><).
Syatul and Sarah (my ex-classmates for last sem) were in charged for transportation, and they said the buses would arrived at Akasia around 7 in the morning (we planned to head to FRIM at 7.15 or so), but the buses instead arrived at 6.30am. (Yes, I know the exact time because my window is facing outside.) I panicked and whatsapped Shaz but there was no reply, so I called her AND SHE DIDN'T PICK UP.
I was like, 'THE PROGRAMME IS TODAY AND THE PROJECT MANAGER ISN'T ANSWERING MY CALLS.'
So I quickly got ready (very quickly that I forgot my purse and my handkerchief and my perfume and I think my student card too [?] until Atikah and Ainaa said to me, 'Masha Allah, Nani, calm down!') and hurriedly went upstairs to Shaz's room. She was praying at that time and I felt bad for disturbing her. I took the cactuses in her hall and went down at the main gate of Akasia. I bumped into Syatul, Sarah and Ruqayyah (Biro Makanan) on my way down and they helped me with the twelve boxes - very heavy boxes - of mineral water that we kept in the TV Room.
I haven't reach FRIM yet and I was already sweating like a pig! (Which reminded me of my perfume and you know what happened.)
Around 7, more and more students were gathering at the gate, and after checking their attendance, Bus Number 1 and 2 were ready to go while Bus Number 3 (the committee in charged were Syatul, Sarah, Shaz and yours truly) was not because there was a student not in the bus yet AND IT WAS ALREADY 7.15AM. *Breathes*
I called that student and she said she just woke up. My expression when I heard that was T__________________T. All I can say is, 'Please be hurry. We'll be waiting for you.' Nak tinggal terus, tak sampai hati pula kannnn. Haish.
So my bus was the last one to go and the bus driver was driving like crazy, trying to catch up with the other buses. But all of us made it safely to FRIM and surprisingly, we were a bit early than the estimated time. Phew!
Once there, we were divided into groups (which we've also planned) according to our ribbons' colours (even the committee got our own ribbons). I got a grey ribbon, and I was in the same group as Syahmi, my classmate.
We sit according to groups and I introduced myself as one of the committee and asked them to choose their leader. Of course, Syahmi was the one and all groups received a representative from FRIM. We followed the uncle (ke abang? lol because he was quite young) to our first activity, Canopy Walkway.
To be honest, I thought we would just straight away found the walkway and walk through it. But boy, was I wrong. We had to walk (I don't recall how many kilometres, damn) in the forest. The uncle asked the boys to walk at the back so that when one of the girls started to feel tired, at least the boys knew that she was behind and we'd have to wait for her.
But you know what? I was the one who felt tired. Funny, as I was the one who held the First Aid Kit.
I felt extremely tired, and I had to stop after a few minutes walking (see how unfit I am?), but I couldn't let the team know that I'm weak, especially that I'm the one who held the kit!
So I stopped walking (because I need to breathe, for God's sake) and pretend to look back to make sure everyone's alright (when I am the one who is not alright) and continued walking. I did this numeral times. Hahaha.
After Canopy Walkway was Nature Trail, and I like Nature Trail even better because I didn't feel that tired. Plus, we got to look at the beautiful trees. Lovely!
At about 1, everyone gathered and we ate and prayed. Pretty much everyone was absolutely tired but we had another activity after that which is Treasure Hunt!
Syatul, Sarah, Shaz and I didn't participate in this one because we were tired. Hahaha. We sat together, guarding the food and presents when we saw a stray dog. Shaz was extremely scared and she immediately ran away. Syatul, Sarah and I were still calm, although we were scared ourselves. The dog came towards us and we ran away. It was sniffing, and I prayed it didn't eat the food. Thankfully, a kind person helped us to scare the dog, and he told us to just pretend to throw something at it and it will go away.
Everyone really did enjoy our programme and we, the committee, were the happiest people in the world. Shaz, of course, was excited as everyone thanked and congratulated her as the Project Manager. I slept in the bus on the way back to Akasia although I tried to stay awake because Shaz kept telling me about how happy she was.
That's pretty much it! I'd post pictures but I feel so lazy to bluetooth the pictures from my phone.
Toodles!
